John Tolbert, above, and Paden Tolbert, right, were deputy marshals in the federal district court presided over by Judge Isaac C. Parker in Fort Smith. This image was likely taken circa 1892 when both men took part in the killing of the outlaw Ned Christie in the Indian Territory.
