Not long after the tornado struck Fort Smith on Jan. 11, 1898, Thrash-Lick Printing Co. (later Weldon, Williams & Lick) printed a booklet of photographs depicting its aftermath entitled "Photographic Views of the Great Cyclone at Fort Smith." Taken by a photographer named Gannaway, this map and other images appeared in the booklet.
